Anthony Sapienza, M.D. is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon who specializes in the treatment of problems of the upper extremity including disorders of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. Specifically, he will see patients for: ligament injuries, nerve repair surgery, nerve decompression, elbow surgery, tendon injuries, Dupuytren’s contracture, finger fractures, hand fractures, elbow fractures, forearm fractures, elbow, shoulder, and clavicle fractures, tendinitis, wrist injuries, de Quervain syndrome, ganglion cyst, trigger finger, acromioclavicular joint sprain, carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar nerve compression, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, rotator cuff injuries, and frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis).
He earned his Medical Degree from Drexel University College of Medicine and completed his Orthopedic Residency at Drexel University / Hahnemann University Hospital in 2010. He completed a Fellowship in Hand & Upper Extremity at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City. He served as the Chief of Hand Surgery at Bellevue Hospital and the Co-Director of the Hand Fellowship Program at the NYU Langone Orthopedics Hospital.
